We provide a range of counselling, community rehabilitation & support services for people affected by substance misuse to help them on their recovery journey. With our partner agencies we are committed to making recovery a reality across Forth Valley & we are seeking a Substance Misuse Recovery Development Worker

35 hours per week including evening & weekends

Salary £23,697 to £26,235

You will be passionate and enthusiastic about recovery and have a good track record in promoting peer support and recovery initiatives. A self-starter, and a highly skilled communicator, you will be pivotal in developing good links between treatment & support services, Forth Valley Recovery Community (FVRC) and aftercare provision. You will be comfortable in working with a range of stakeholders to develop and champion a robust recovery orientated system of care that has peer development at its heart.

You will

  • Have a recognised professional qualification at a minimum of SVQ level 4 and
  • A good understanding of and familiarity with what works to promote and sustain recovery, and
  • Ability to work flexibly and creatively in motivating, supporting and developing people in recovery

We are seeking an experienced and competent prison based counsellor to work in partnership with NHS Forth Valley and Scottish Prison Service colleagues at HMP Polmont YOI. You may also be asked to work across other prison establishments in Forth Valley.

Addictions Worker – Counsellor, prison based

35 hours per week

Salary £23,697 to £26,235

You will use your assessment, care planning and counselling skills to work with offenders many of whom are affected by alcohol misuse. A self-starter, you will be comfortable working alongside colleagues within a multi-agency approach in developing creative responses to need. You will;

  • have a recognised professional qualification in counselling
  • have a recognised award in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), or be willing to obtain such an award
  • be familiar with managing a busy caseload and in monitoring and recording all aspects of your work
  • have a strong commitment to promoting recovery
